It is with regret that we have made the hard decision to cancel our first horse trials of the year.
Despite some good weather over the last week, the previous spell of wet weather has made some key areas of the XC course impossible to prepare and use and this combined with poor entry levels at ballot date has prompted the decision to cancel.
Steph Buchanan, Organiser of the Horse Trials commented, “ It is a difficult decision, but some of these key areas we cannot access and are going to require some prolonged good weather for us to produce the best ground we can. We would rather make an early decision to allow competitors the option to re route to other events. We have continued to invest in fences on the cross country course and we will work on improving drainage over the year in preparation to welcoming everyone back in September this year”. All competitors entered, will receive a full refund.
We contact all our volunteers, organisers, sponsors, judges, scorers, suppliers, caterers and trade stands tomorrow to give you more details and refunds.
We have cancelled the xc schooling and show jumping course hire on Sunday 17th April. But we are looking at putting in another arena Eventing comp on Friday 15th April.
