Charities We Support
Forces Children's Trust
The Saddle Club is proud to support the charity Forces Children’s Trust, running experience days for its members free of charge. The charity helps children whose father or mother has fallen, or sustained life-threatening injuries, whilst serving as a member of the British Forces. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
Riding for the Disabled (RDA)
Riding for the Disabled also visit on a weekly basis for free, using the well-schooled club horses and ponies to provide therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities.
Help for Heroes
We work with veterans together with Warrior Equine and Monty Roberts, bringing the power of the horse to build on many life skills.
Warrior Equine
Having seen the powerful positive effect of working with horses on those suffering from severe psychological trauma, Warrior Equine were inspired to put together a programme of courses and support for the Armed Forces, veterans and emergency services personnel and other groups who have often given so much in the course of their duty.
Using their highly experienced team, they facilitate working with horses to help those suffering from mental health issues such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anger management, lack of trust, social withdrawal, self-esteem issues and difficulty in coping with civilian life.
Warrior Equine offers equine assisted Mental Resilience and Positive Wellbeing courses at RAC Saddle Club, adapting to each group’s individual needs, for groups of a minimum 6 and up to 10 attendees. Our aim is to facilitate long term positive changes in mental health, resilience, confidence and self worth, reigniting that zest for life.
Bovington Primary School
Bovington Primary School children have been riding with you and it has been wonderful for the children to experience this. Many of the children who ride have additional needs, such as Autism, Speech and Language, Emotional Regulation or physical needs. It has been such a great experience for everyone of them who have learnt so much about change, being calm, following instructions and also their own sensory needs. The children have built lovely relationships with the horses and staff and very much look forward to their sessions every week.
