Body Protector Change of Rules for 2024 & Hat Rules

319087592_10161280040208357_3428037419938690220_n

We are getting a lot of enquiries lately about a change of rules on body protectors.

The main bodies – British Eventing, British Riding Clubs and Pony Clubs have all agreed that from 1st January 2024, body protectors meeting the 2009 standard will no longer be permitted for use in their disciplines.

Riders can of course continue to use BETA 2009 for general riding or in other activities where they do not specify a BP requirement.

This will mean that the BETA 2018 label will be the only accepted standard by these disciplines. There is NO new standard coming in at this stage and no revisions are currently expected to the current standard.

Are you planning to buy a new body protector? Or maybe the one you have has the 2009 label on it?

BETA always recommends that hats and body protectors should be fitted.

If you want to buy those items for someone else a shopping voucher from a BETA-trained retailer might be a better idea. 🎁

Regarding hats here are the standards for 2023 which will be carried over to 2024.
