It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of our BE event this weekend due to the unprecedented rainfall we’ve experienced over the past week. Like many venues this year, we’ve faced unfortunate weather challenges, and despite a costly drainage system installed in our back fields, the water table is simply too high.
After considering our committed costs we are in the position to offer 70% refund to all our competitors.
Last year, we hosted an incredible event, and our team has been tirelessly working behind the scenes up until this morning to create a wonderful experience for our riders once again. We know you share in our disappointment, and we want to extend our gratitude to everyone who helped prepare the course. Our liveries have been amazing, with their horses off the course for many months, and our dedicated staff and volunteers have put in countless hours harrowing and rolling the fields. Our admin team has also worked diligently, coordinating judges and volunteers for months, while our volunteers and liveries painted over 140 jumps.
We made the difficult decision to cancel our Hunter Trial and Eventer Challenge to preserve the course for the BE, especially given the low number of entries. It’s heartbreaking, as we had big names signed up, and our yard thrives on the excitement of seeing riders of all levels in action.
A special thank you to Adrian Ditcham and our TA Simon Bere for their support during this disappointing outcome.
