Area 14 Dressage Qualifier Results | Southfield House, Frome

Wow, what a day we had at the Area 14 Dressage Qualifier at Southfield House, Whatley, Frome!

We had an incredible 23 riders competing, with 26 tests ridden brilliantly throughout the day. It was fantastic to see everyone looking so smart and having prepared their horses and ponies so beautifully.

Some riders were partnered with riding school ponies who rarely leave the yard, but every single combination rose to the challenge, stayed within the boards, completed their tests and scored over 60% – a fantastic achievement.

Special mentions must go to Harry, who had never ridden his pony before, and Savannah, who switched onto Black Jack at the last minute and still produced a great performance. Then there was Chester, who had just 24 hours of preparation before the competition. What a testament to the adaptability and determination of our riders.

Congratulations to everyone who scored over 70% – an outstanding achievement. And especially to Evie, who took the win despite claiming she hates dressage! We certainly enjoyed seeing your inner dressage diva emerge.

There were plenty of rosettes handed out, but even more importantly, there were lots of smiles, laughter and team spirit throughout the day.

A huge congratulations to our winning 90cm team – Poppy, Shannon, Ava and Abi. What a result! A special mention also to Poppy, who finished second individually despite being in a relatively new partnership.

Many of you have now qualified, which is incredibly exciting, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve between now and the championships.

A huge thank you, as always, to all the parents who helped with transport and support throughout the day. And special thanks to Lisa for stepping in as Acting DC, and to Sam for helping warm up riders and for all the coaching and preparation leading up to the event.
